Employee Spotlight: April

April’s employee spotlight is Lisa Hutchinson, part of the Sales Administration team. Recently joined AB Scientific in January and already a huge team player!

1. What is your professional background and what drew you to working for AB Scientific?After school I went to college to study travel and tourism but decided it wasn’t for me, so I spent some time in retail and hospitality before settling in the caravan industry working in sales and production scheduling. When I applied at AB Scientific I was looking for a completely new challenge,. The working from home aspect and the opportunity to learn about a sector I had no experience in is what made me want to apply.

2. As a child what did you want to do when you grew up?

All sorts, I changed my mind every week. I’ve always had a love of animals and the ocean so being a vet or a marine biologist was always on my mind.

3. How would your colleagues describe you?

Team player, friendly, approachable, energetic

4. What are your hobbies/interests outside of work?

We’re currently doing a full renovation of our house so that takes up a lot of our weekends at the moment. I have a passion for interior design and love seeing my ideas come to life in my home. When I’m not painting, I love spending time with family and friends, hiking, swimming and going to the gym.

5. How has AB Scientific allowed you to grow and develop professionally and personally, and what do you like best about your role here?

It’s still early days in my career here but I have already learnt so much especially from a supply chain point of view as that’s something I’ve never done before. I like how welcoming the team have been and I feel like I’ve been here a lot longer. I’m looking forward to learning new skills from such an experienced team.
