Neil is our Service Manager.
As a child what did you want to do when you grew up?
As long as I can remember I have loved playing football, so when I was a child I definitely wanted to be a professional footballer.
What is your professional background and what drew you to working for AB Scientific?
Since graduating from Queen’s University in Belfast I have worked primarily as a field service engineer, firstly with a global tech company and then with a world leader in design and manufacture of high performance scientific digital cameras. AB Scientific has given me the opportunity to continue working as a field engineer with innovative products and some of the world leaders in clinical diagnostics.
How would your colleagues describe you?
One colleague described me as: “Conscientious, funny, honest and a good mentor”
What are your hobbies/interests outside of work?
Outside of work I like to try any and all sports, mostly I play football, golf, squash and GAA. I also like to go for a walk or cycle when the weather is nice. I am also trying to learn how to cook but a lot of practice is required!
How has AB Scientific allowed you to grow and develop professionally and personally, and what do you like best about your role here?
AB Scientific has certainly helped me to grow professionally, I now have a key role in managing and growing the service department, when in previous roles I was the engineer on site trying to solve a problem the customer was facing. I still have that role of being the engineer on site but I also have other responsibilities like ensuring all the work done in the service depatment is up to standard and compliant as well as always striving for improvement.
